Nearly a decade in the making, the final in the WFG’s historic six-set DVD collection will be launched Thursday, July 5 at 7 PM at the Winnipeg Cinematheque.
Curators Danishka Esterhazy, Solomon Nagler and myself were selected in 2003 to assemble a DVD program reflective of the (then) new generation of filmmakers associated with the WFG. The selection was made with the spirit of ’emerging’ in mind and includes many first or early works made by the filmmakers – including an experimental film by Danishka Esterhazy and a short drama by myself.
