Synopsis:

In 1944, the teenaged Hilda’s life was uprooted when her family escaped Zagreb, fleeing Tito’s Partisans and leaving everything behind. Finding Hilda follows the traces of this wartime journey that Hilda left following her death, incorporating 16 mm film eco-processed in Austria with linden leaves and flowers, apples and apple leaves, and in Chile with fig, walnut and olive leaves, alongside video and documents from private and public archives.

Finding Hilda was made with the generous support of the Canada Council for the Arts.
