I’m honoured my film The Space Shuttle Challenger has been awarded the Best Experimental Short prize at the 2019 edition of the Arizona Underground Film Festival in Tucson, USA.

This is the fourth international prize for The Space Shuttle Challenger. It was the recipient of the Best Short prize at this human world: International Human Rights Film Festival (Austria) in 2018; received 3rd place in international biannual Norberto Griffa Prize (Argentina) for independent Latin American film, also in 2018; and was winner of the International Documentary Competition at Shorts México in 2019.

Through found footage, The Space Shuttle Challenger entwines the Challenger disaster, Guantanamo Bay, Chile’s coup d’état and the experience of being 16. It reflects on the personal impact of large events in world history and small moments of hope that survive.
